Description

This 3ds Max tool provides users a quick and easy way to find and select objects within the scene. Users are given a variety of options for selecting objects as described below.

Features

  • Supports 3ds Max 2021 or newer

Quick Select

Objects In View
– Selects all objects visible in the current viewport

Objects Not In View
– Selects all objects not visible in the current viewport

Objects With Material
– Selects all objects with a material

Objects With No Material
– Selects all objects that do not have a material

Instances of Selected Objects
– Selects all instances of the currently selected objects

Object Classes…
– Opens a dialog showing a unique list of all the Object Classes found in the scene. From there users can select one or more Object Classes in the list and click OK which then selects all the corresponding objects in the scene.

Object Super Classes…
– Opens a dialog showing a unique list of all the Object Super Classes found in the scene. From there users can select one or more Object Super Classes in the list and click OK which then selects all the corresponding objects in the scene.

Modifier Classes…
– Opens a dialog showing a unique list of all the Modifier Classes found in the scene. From there users can select one or more Modifier Classes in the list and click OK which then selects all the corresponding objects in the scene.

Modifier Names…
– Opens a dialog showing a unique list of all the Modifier Names found in the scene. From there users can select one or more Modifier Names in the list and click OK which then selects all the corresponding objects in the scene.

Material Classes…
– Opens a dialog showing a unique list of all the Material Classes found in the scene. From there users can select one or more Modifier Classes in the list and click OK which then selects all the corresponding objects in the scene.

Material Names…
– Opens a dialog showing a unique list of all the Material Names found in the scene. From there users can select one or more Material Names in the list and click OK which then selects all the corresponding objects in the scene.

Wirecolor Select

Selects objects whose wirecolor is within the tolerance of the existing selected object’s wirecolors.
The tolerance value ranges from 0% – 100% controlling the hue range to select.

Find and Select

Gives users the ability to search the scene using a string search with added options.

Find Method

  • Object Name – Searchs by object name
  • Object Super Class Name – Searchs by object super class name
  • Object Class Name – Searchs by object class name
  • Modifier Name – Searchs by modifier name
  • Modifier Class Name – Searchs by modifier class name
  • Material Name – Searchs by material name
  • Material Class Name – Searchs by material class name

Regex/Wildcard Toggle
– When enabled interprets the search input field as regular expression (regex) otherwise interprets the input as simple wildcard searching.

Selection Toggle
– When enabled will restrict the search to the current selection
