Would be nice to have a pallet of colors to choose from (for people baking vert colors as ID maps).

that is something i could add with support for customizing the color palette

Can I apply Vertex color on just the selected vertexes under the Editable poly modifer. Only want some of the vertexes be shaded.

    • admin

i believe the modifier only works on the entire object.

Thank you for the reply. It would be so useful 🙂

The script is great for objects with a small poly counts. I just wished it worked for large amounts of elements (Eg: Trees) in a way that the Data channel and other modifiers can.

Thanks for the feedback Peter. I’ll look into further optimizing the performance to increase its responsiveness for larger meshes. Autodesk is in the process of making this easier to do from a development standpoint so keep a look out for an update to this tool 🙂

  5. Joe

Great tool, but very slow to use on high poly objects which is frustrating.

I’ll look into doing some optimizations on this to speed up the performance. The data retrieved is actually really fast. The slowdown actually comes from the way autodesk has implemented the handling of assigning colors to vertices which is out of my control at the moment. However they are in the process of revamping how mesh data is stored under the hood which in return will significantly speed up this tool on it’s own.
